Community Guidelines for Safe & Respectful Carpooling

These simple rules help us build the safest, most respectful carpooling community in North America. Read them, follow them, and help us keep the platform great.

These guidelines work alongside our formal Community Agreement. The Agreement has enforceable rules and consequences. These guidelines capture the spirit of great carpooling — the everyday courtesies that turn a shared ride into a great experience.

01 Safety First

Always verify your driver or passenger through the in-app profile before meeting. Share your trip details with a trusted contact. If anything feels off, trust your instincts and cancel the ride.

02 Be Respectful

Treat everyone with kindness and respect. No discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or background. Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

03 Be On Time

Arrive at the pickup point at the agreed time. If you're running late, message your driver or passenger immediately. Chronic lateness affects your rating.

04 Communicate Clearly

Use the in-app messaging for all communication. Never share personal phone numbers or emails before the ride. Keep messages polite and relevant to the trip.

$ 05 Honor the Price

The price shown at booking is the price you pay. Drivers should not ask for additional cash payments. All payments go through our secure Stripe system.

🚗 06 Vehicle Standards

Drivers must ensure their vehicle is clean, safe, and roadworthy. Passengers should keep the vehicle clean during the trip.

07 No Illegal Activity

Drugs, weapons, and any illegal items are strictly prohibited. Violators will be permanently banned and reported to authorities.

08 Leave Honest Reviews

Ratings help keep our community safe. Leave honest, constructive feedback after every ride. Reviews should focus on the trip experience, not personal attacks.

09 Cancellation Decency

Passengers: Cancel at least 24 hours before for a full refund. 3+ late cancellations in 30 days earns a strike. Drivers: Repeated cancellations are logged and may lead to account review.

10 Emergency Protocol

Use the in-app emergency button to alert our 24/7 support team. For immediate danger, call 911 first, then use the app.

Common Questions

What happens if a driver doesn't show up?

You'll receive a full refund and the driver will be flagged for review. Contact support within 24 hours.

Can I bring a friend who isn't booked?

No. Every passenger must have a confirmed booking. Unbooked passengers are not covered by our safety policies.

What if the car doesn't match the description?

Do not get in. Cancel the ride immediately and report the discrepancy to support.

Are pets allowed?

Only if the driver has marked 'Pets Allowed' on their ride listing. Service animals are always permitted by law.

What is the cancellation decency policy?

Passengers get a full refund when cancelling 24+ hours before departure. Within 24 hours, only 50% is refunded. Late cancellations earn strikes — 3 strikes may restrict your booking ability.

What is the difference between locking and cancelling a ride?

Locking a ride temporarily stops new bookings while keeping existing passengers. Cancelling removes it entirely and refunds all passengers.
