Transparent Pricing

How Pricing Works on
RideCarpooling

No hidden fees. No surge pricing. Just fair, distance-based fares split between passengers — with full transparency on what drivers earn.

The 3 Principles of Our Pricing

Every fare on RideCarpooling is built on these three pillars.

Fair for Everyone

Fares are calculated based on actual distance and fuel costs — not demand, time of day, or surge algorithms.

100% Transparent

You see the full breakdown before you book. No surprises at checkout, no hidden platform fees added on top.

Cheaper Together

The more passengers share a ride, the less each person pays. Carpooling is always cheaper than driving alone or taking a bus.

How Your Fare is Calculated

Step by step — from route distance to what lands in the driver's pocket.

Step 1

Distance is the base

The platform calculates the route distance in kilometres. Longer trips cost more — but the per-km rate stays consistent and fair.

Step 2

Divide by passengers

The total fare is split equally among all passengers. The more people in the car, the cheaper it is per person — that's the whole point of carpooling.

Step 3

Driver sets the price

Drivers can adjust their fare within a suggested range. The platform shows a recommended price based on fuel costs and distance — drivers can go slightly above or below.

Step 4

Platform fee (29.99%)

A 29.99% platform fee is deducted from the total fare. This covers payment processing, insurance support, driver verification, and platform maintenance.

Step 5

Driver receives 70.01%

After the platform fee, the driver keeps 70.01% of the total collected fare. Payouts are processed via PayPal within 3–5 business days after the ride.
